We are committed to the preservation of the rustic ambience which has made this community so desirable. Since incorporation in 1926, the Village Trustees have enacted zoning ordinances to protect both the beauty of our natural environment and our privacy.
While the regulations on tree cutting, building on steep slopes, building height limitations, setback requirements from neighbors, restrictions on docks, etc. involve more permits and restrictions than other nearby areas on Long Island, the wisdom of these actions in protecting the quality of life in our Village over the past 98 years is evident.
